What is NLP?
NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming
NLP in a most general definition is a set of tools and techniques to change the way we think. In actuality though, it is so much more because it can be seen as a user’s manual for the neural language of the brain. With NLP, you can become fluent in the language of your mind and your unconscious, and by tapping into that language, you can better understand what you actually want out of life.
NLP was developed in the 1970s by trainers and colleagues Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who believed it was possible to identify the patterns of thoughts and behaviors of successful individuals. In doing so, they felt that if they could harness these patterns and teach them to others, they could invigorate an entire generation of new ways of thinking. Accordingly, their NLP method uses perceptual and behavioral techniques as well as communication strategies to make it easier for people to embrace their conscious minds and change their thoughts and actions. It relies on language processing along with an overarching attitude and methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.
